AGA Reports U.S. Commercial Casino Revenue Growth

The American Gaming Association (AGA), has reported a massive growth in revenue in U.S. commercial casinos. The report shows a rise in revenue from the second to the third quarter of 2020.

Compared to the report for the second quarter, the revenue has improved by the staggering 294% during the third quarter of 2020. The report for the third quarter includes September 30, and the revenue reported for the third quarter comes at $9.04 billion strong.

Even though AGA reports a massive rise in revenue, the casino performance is still in decline when compared to the performance booked for the whole year. The $9.04 billion generated in Q3 is a part of the 36.5% year-on-year decline, the period from January to September 2020.

Health and Safety Prioritized

Representatives from the American Gaming Association say that the industry is prioritizing health and safety of their employees and customers and that a full recovery depends on continued public health measures.

“Our industry continues to prioritize the health and safety of our employees, customers, and communities above all else. While these quarterly results are promising, the reality is a full recovery is dependent on continued public health measures to control prevalence rates. As state and local officials respond to current COVID-19 outbreaks with additional restrictions, urgent Congressional action to provide COVID-19 relief is even more crucial. Gaming employees and communities depend on it,” said Bill Miller, AGA President and CEO.

The AGA is able to provide state-by-state, as well as cumulative insight into the United States’ commercial gaming industry’s financial performance. It relies on state revenue reports to determine whether there is a rise or a decline in the industry and can provide quarterly and year-to-date comparisons.
