- Five of Napoli’s last six Europa League games have featured fewer than three goals.
- Three of AZ Alkmaar’s four Europa League group stage games have produced fewer than two goals.
- Napoli have won their last three Europa League group stage games, two of them to nil.
Napoli to edge tight affair
Napoli’s Europa League campaign started off in the worst possible manner as they were turned over at home to AZ on matchday one, but the Italians have recovered well and head into the penultimate round of fixtures top of Group F and knowing that a win would secure passage to the knockout rounds.
AZ, meanwhile, have failed to win their last two group games and find themselves level on points with Real Sociedad. Qualification is still very much on the cards, but they know their opponents won’t be taking their foot off the gas just yet.
In any case, this isn’t expected to be a particularly entertaining affair. Neither of these sides have impressed going forward so far and both have been solid at the back. Three of both AZ’s and Napoli’s four group stage games have featured fewer than three goals, so backing the unders is the way to go here.
We are expecting Napoli to secure their position though. They have won three on the bounce in the group stage and away from home they have won four in a row in all competitions. With two of these four wins being by a 1-0 scoreline, we’re opting for that for our correct score prediction.
