Goalless Boxing Day at St Andrew’s
Coventry started life back in the Championship with the division’s leakiest defence, but they have tightened things up over recent weeks, conceding just four goals from their last nine games.
The Sky Blues have been particularly resilient at their temporary St Andrew’s home, as they are unbeaten at the venue in five and have conceded just once during that time.
However, an improved defence has come at a slight cost, as Mark Robins’ side have scored just once in three matches, with three of their last five home games ending 0-0, including each of their last two.
Stoke have had similar problems in front of goal of late, but they have been one of the most consistent sides on the road in the Championship this season, with only Norwich and Brentford having accumulated more away points.
The Potters are certainly an improved outfit under Michael O’Neill and their current five-match unbeaten run on the road has moved them to the cusp of the playoff places.
Three of those five away matches have ended 0-0 and we are predicting a similar result on Saturday, with our 0-0 prediction indicating that you may have to look elsewhere for some festive fireworks.
