- Eintracht Frankfurt have lost only two of their 14 Bundesliga assignments this season
- Eintracht Frankfurt’s matches have featured an average of 3.29 goals per game this term
- Both teams have scored in eight of Mainz’s last 11 games
Struggling Mainz could be overpowered by Frankfurt
Mainz held a shock 2-0 lead away to Bayern Munich last time out but capitulated to lose 5-2 at the Allianz Arena and their confidence may have hit rock bottom going into this weekend’s clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Mainz have won only one of their 14 Bundesliga affairs this term – and that came against a struggling Freiburg team at the time – and they are five points from safety in Germany’s top flight.
Eintracht Frankfurt, meanwhile, have their sights set on a European berth this campaign and a 2-1 victory over top-four hopefuls Bayer Leverkusen last time out suggested they could have what it takes to break into the top four.
That result means they have lost only one of their previous eight matches and even that was a 2-1 defeat to Wolfsburg where the game was level until 88 minutes. Frankfurt should be fancied to win this one and punters should expect a high-scoring match so 3-1 could be the way to play it.
