Is a high house edge better?

Hello, I have been playing blackjack for while, whir never understood or looked into the house edge, counting, strategy side of things.

I see in Vegas many casinos have listed surveys and their house edge. Some casinos have a house edge of .16 and .54 on the same casino on a table with the same rules.

Can anyone answer why that is, or if a higher house edge is better or worse and why? I know I probably sound ridiculous for not understanding. But I would love an explanation if someone can.
