- Lazio have seen both teams score in all five competitive home games this season.
- Zenit have scored in 11 of their last 12 competitive matches.
- Zenit have conceded exactly two goals in three of their last six matches, losing 2-1 twice.
- Ciro Immobile has scored in each of his last four appearances.
Immobile to lead Lazio to victory
Lazio made it eight games unbeaten on Saturday with a comfortable victory at Crotone, and they will be hoping to move top of their Champions League group with victory on Tuesday.
The Italians made an emphatic return to the competition with their 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in matchday one, but they haven’t been able to build on that victory and have played out subsequent draws at Club Brugge and Zenit. However, back at the Stadio Olimpico they will be expected to put on a show.
Zenit have lost two of their three group games so far, and while they are underdogs here they could still threaten a fairly fragile Lazio back line. Zenit have failed to score in just one of their last 12 competitive games and they face a Lazio side that have conceded in nine of their last ten.
The hosts have seen both teams score in all five of their competitive home games this season, and with Zenit’s attacking credentials we fancy a similar outcome on Tuesday.
We are expecting the favourites to get the three points, however. Zenit have conceded exactly two goals in three of their last six competitive games and Lazio have conceded exactly one in each of their last four home matches, so a 2-1 correct score prediction is a good option.
Ciro Immobile is an obvious choice for the anytime goalscorer market. The Italian forward scored an incredible 36 Serie A goals last season and heads into this match having found the net in each of his last four appearances, so we’re opting for him to get on the scoresheet.
