The No. 5 Texas A&M Aggies will travel to Jordan-Hare Stadium to take on the No. 22 Auburn Tigers. The Aggies will look to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive after defeating LSU 20-7 last week.
Auburn saw their three-game winning streak end with a loss to No. 1 Alabama 42-13. The Tigers are 5-3 overall with the same record in SEC play.
Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview: Tough on Defense
The Aggies have won five straight since losing to Alabama in their second game of the season. Texas A&M’s defense has turned it on the last two weeks holding their opponents to seven and three points, respectively.
Kellen Mond leads the Aggies offense. He has completed 128-of-216 passes for 1,573 yards with 16 touchdowns and two interceptions. Ainias Smith has been his favorite target with 29 catches for 348 yards with five touchdowns.
The Aggies are averaging just over 185 yards a game on the ground. Isaiah Spiller has been their leading rusher with 130 carries with 784 yards and six touchdowns.
The A&M defense has found another level since playing Alabama. They are holding their opponents 328 yards a game and 22.4 points per game. Buddy Johnson leads a balanced bunch with 66 tackles, two sacks, and an interception.
Auburn Tigers Betting Preview: Big Test for Nix
After a loss on the road against South Carolina, it looked like this season was going to head in the wrong direction. Gus Malzahn rallied his team to three straight wins before falling to Alabama.
Bo Nix has not had the season Auburn fans were hoping for. He has completed 159-of-260 passes for 1,854 yards with ten touchdowns and seven interceptions. His go-to receiver has been Seth Williams, who has caught 36 balls for 580 yards with three touchdowns.
The Auburn run game, led by Tank Bigsby, has been the bright spot for the offense. They are averaging just over 160 yards, led by Bigsby, who has carried the ball 103 times for 566 yards with five touchdowns.
Defensively the Tigers have struggled, allowing their opponents to gain 407.5 yards per game and score 24.5 points. Auburn has allowed a lot of yardage but given up very few points, relatively speaking. They will hope to continue that trend against a good, not great, Aggies offense.

This game is hard to pick for me. The A&M defense is good, but I don’t think they are elite. LSU and South Carolina both struggle on offense, so the last two weeks may look a lot better than they actually were.
I believe the Aggies are going to end up winning this matchup. However, I don’t think it’ll be enough to cover the spread.
