This should be a fantastic night of fights. The main event between Kai Asakura and Kyoji Horiguchi, in particular, has many fans intrigued. Today, we’ll take a look at the betting odds for some of tomorrow’s most important matchups.
Let’s check them out!
Kyoji Horiguchi’s Return is Just One Day Away
In October of 2013, a young Japanese fighter named Kyoji Horiguchi burst onto the UFC scene with a second-round TKO win over Dustin Pague. Fans immediately knew that he was an up-and-comer to keep an eye on. After just three more wins, Kyoji earned a shot at the flyweight champion of the world against Demetrious Johnson.
This fight proved to be too much, too soon for Horiguchi. He put up a valiant performance, but was eventually submitted via armbar in the fifth round. The loss proved to be a pivotal moment in the American Top Team-trained bantamweight’s career.
Over the next four years, Horiguchi won 13-straight fights and captured both the Rizin and Bellator bantamweight championships. Many felt he was one of the best 135-pound fighters alive. In August of 2019, he finally lost via TKO to Kai Asakura. It was a huge upset according to nearly all online sports betting websites around the world.
A rematch was quickly scheduled, yet Horiguchi ended up suffering a devastating ACL injury. He’s since recovered, and the rematch with Asakura will finally take place tomorrow night. ATT coach Mike Brown claims Kyoji is one of the hardest workers he’s ever seen. He also believes that a mega-fight in the flyweight division is not out of the question sometime in the near future.
“That’s what really bothers me. And that’s what really bummed me out about the loss [to Asakura]. To the casual fan, if you lose outside the UFC they think, ‘Oh, he’s not that good.’ There are good guys everywhere. There are elite fighters all over the place. And Kyoji is super good. And he can make [flyweight]. What I’d love to see in the future is him fighting [Johnson] or Henry [Cejudo].”
This is obviously a massive fight for the career of Kyoji Horiguchi. A win could set him up for some massive bouts in 2021. Many fans are now beginning to place their bets on the fights taking place in Japan tomorrow.
Breaking Down the New Odds on Rizin 26 Available Online
MMA betting grew extremely popular throughout 2020. For a time, MMA was one of the only major sports on television. There are now a huge number of fantastic online sportsbooks offering odds on just about every major MMA event taking place around the world.

Despite losing in the first fight, Kyoji Horiguchi enters this rematch as the -140 favorite. He’s proven to be elite in just about every facet of MMA. If he improved his striking defense, this is a fight he can and should win.
Kai Asakura is no pushover. He’s turned into a huge star in Japan and has drawn comparisons to Nick Diaz for his style and willingness to fight anyone. Another win over Kyoji would raise his stock even further and could set him up for a transition into the UFC next year. MyBookie lists Kai as the +110 underdog in this one.
This entire event is stacked from top to bottom. Many are also interested in seeing what happens between Mikuru Asakawa (Kai’s brother) and Satoshi Yamasu. Mikuru comes in as the -500 favorite, while Yamasu enters as the +350 underdog.

UFC Fight Island Events Continue to Face Shake-Ups
Rizin is set to hold its final event of 2020 tomorrow night. The UFC, however, put on its final show of the year on December 19. This promotion is now gearing up for another triumphant return to “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi beginning in January.
Three massive UFC events are scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi next month. Most are excited to see the bout between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. It’s a huge fight that could end up deciding the next UFC lightweight champion of the world.
Unfortunately, the huge main event between Khamzat Chimaev and Leon Edwards has been scrapped. Chimaev was forced off the card due to injury and the UFC is now in crisis mode looking for a suitable replacement. It’s still unclear who, if anyone, will end up taking his place.
There are still a few weeks left before the first Fight Island event kicks off. A lot can happen in that time period. Hopefully, no more of the main events scheduled to take place in January end up being canceled.
There’s still one major MMA event taking place this year. The new odds on Rizin 26 offer fans the ability to make money off this show. We’re in for a great night of fights and might get a hint of what to expect from Rizin in 2021.
