NFL Betting Preview: LA Rams vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Monday, Nov. 23, 2020

Monday Night Football will feature a pair of teams that could quite possibly be first round opponents in the playoffs. The Rams come in at 6-3 and the Buccaneers at 7-3.

Los Angeles is coming off a division win over Seattle 23-16. Tampa Bay won their last game 46-23 over Carolina after being blown out by New Orleans. The Buccaneers have won four of their previous five games.

Los Angeles Betting Preview

The Rams used a badly needed bye week to get healthy and win a crucial game over their division rival Seattle Seahawks. It temporarily pushed them into a three-way tie with Arizona and Seattle atop the NFL West.

Los Angeles’ offense has been a great mix of run and pass. Jared Goff has completed 213-of-321 passes for 2,447 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. His favorite target has been Cooper Kupp, who has caught 53 passes for577 yards and two touchdowns.

The Rams are averaging 134 yards a game rushing, which is eighth-best in the NFL. Darrell Henderson Jr. leads the team in rushing with 486 yards on 102 carries with four touchdowns.

Los Angeles’ biggest strength has been their defense. They are limiting their opponents to 317 yards of total offense and 18.7 points per game. Aaron Donald and Leonard Floyd have been on the best NFL duo in sacks with 16 combined, nine by Donald and seven by Floyd.

Tampa Bay Betting Preview

Despite losing both games to the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay now looks like the favorite in the NFC South after Drew Brees’ injury. After a trip to Kansas City next week, the Buccaneers will get a bye and four very winnable games to finish the season.

Tom Brady has completed 254-of-385 passes for 2,739 yards with 23 touchdowns and seven interceptions. His favorite target, and there are many quality receivers to throw it to, has been Mike Evans, who has caught 40 balls for 513 yards with eight touchdowns.

The run game for Tampa Bay has been the only real issue for the Buccaneers’ offense. They are averaging 103 yards per game. Ronald Jones II is the leading rusher with 143 carries for 730 yards with five touchdowns.

Tampa Bay’s defense has been a pleasant surprise all season. They are holding their opponents to 324.1 yards per game and 22.6 points. The Buccaneers have a sack leader of their own in Jason Pierre-Paul, who has 7.5 sacks.

Rams at Buccaneers Betting Lines

Mybookie has Tampa Bay as a four-point favorite. The total is set at 48 points.

While the Buccaneers looked good last week against Carolina, it will not be the same against the Rams pass rush. Look for them to get to Brady early and often.

The Rams offense will do enough to keep Brady and company off the field. I like the Rams to cover and possibly even to win this one straight up.
