NFL Betting Preview: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Cleveland Browns – Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020

The Philadelphia Eagles face one of their biggest games of the year when they head to Cleveland this weekend to take on the Cleveland Browns. The Eagles are in danger of watching their slim division lead slip away if they lose and the New York Giants win their game.

The Browns are trying to stay in the AFC Wild Card race as they are tied with the Baltimore Ravens, and the Ravens currently hold the tiebreaker.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview: Need More Consistency

The Philadelphia Eagles come into play with a record of 3-5-1, a half-game ahead of the New York Giants in the NFC East. The Eagles have been plagued by inconsistency all season long.

When you think they are getting on track, they lay an egg and fall back toward the pack in the lousy NFC East. The Eagles are coming off a loss to the New York Giants last Sunday, 27-17. Quarterback Carson Wentz had a rough outing, completing 21 of 37 passes for 208 yards.

He did not throw a touchdown pass in the game. Running back Miles Sanders returned to the lineup and carried the ball 15 times for 85 yards. The Eagles were 0-9 on 3rd down, which will hamper any lineup. This was the difference in the game as the other stats were pretty even.

On the season, Wentz has completed 58% of his passes for 2,091 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The interception bug has plagued Wentz all season as he has thrown 12 picks this season. Sanders leads the team in rushing with 519 yards on 86 attempts. He has scored three touchdowns on the season. Wide receiver Travis Fulgham has been Wentz’s favorite target this season, catching 30 passes for 443 yards and four touchdowns.

Cleveland Browns Betting Preview: Keep Pace in Playoff Race

The Cleveland Browns come into play with a record of 6-3, three games behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North. The Browns currently hold the final wild-card spot in the AFC playoff race.

Cleveland is coming off a tough win over Houston 10-7 in a game that was delayed because of a thunderstorm at the onset of the game. The Browns welcomed back running back Nick Chubb to the lineup after missing the previous five weeks because of a knee sprain.

He carried the ball 19 times for 126 yards and a touchdown, while Kareem Hunt rushed 19 times for 104 yards en route to the Browns gaining 231 yards on the ground in the game.

On the season, quarterback Baker Mayfield has completed 61% of his passes for 1,646 yards and 15 touchdowns. He has been intercepted seven times.

The ground game is where the Browns have had most of their success this season. Hunt has carried the ball 134 times for 633 yards and three touchdowns, and Chubb has carried the ball 76 times for 461 yards and five scores.

Jarvis Landry was left as the only legitimate target after the season-ending injury to Odell Beckham Jr. However, Rashard Higgins has started to emerge as a threat on the outside in recent weeks.

Eagles at Browns Betting Odds & Lines

MyBookie has the Browns as three-point favorites. This game will come down to whether or not the Browns can run the football.

If they can, they should win this game. Neither team is a real threat in the passing game, so if one can run it, they will probably win. Put your money on Cleveland in this one.
