It’s Rivalry Week.
Army faces Navy. USC clashes with UCLA. Iowa battles Wisconsin for something called the Heartland Trophy.
And here in Pennsylvania, the Nittany Lions host Michigan State for the Land Grant Trophy.
Maybe this weekend’s schedule doesn’t feature the Iron Bowl or Ohio State-Michigan, but the slate still has plenty of potential. There are ranked teams playing in games throughout the day.
And thanks to the top PA sports betting apps, there are a wealth of incentives and promotions as well.
So it’s a football weekend and rivalry weekend with plenty of action to wager on. In this week’s installment of Penn Sportsbooks Pick Play, we’ll cover all the odds at our region’s sportsbook to get you ready for the games.
Nittany Lions favored to win their third straight game
Penn State has won two straight games after starting the season with a dreadful 0-5 record. Unibet Sportsbook has the Nittany Lions as 14.5-point favorites in Saturday’s game, which airs at noon on ABC.
On the moneyline, Penn State is a clear favorite at -770. Michigan State is +510. The game’s total is set at 47 points.
Unibet also has a variety of alternate spreads and totals for those seeking different numbers.
A win Saturday not only gives Penn State the Land Grant Trophy, but it also helps the Nittany Lions to reclaim at least in part what had been a lost season.
Ranked teams and rivalry games fill up the Saturday schedule
Later in the day, football fans will have plenty of other choices. Army and Navy kick off at 3 p.m. Iowa (-2) travels to Wisconsin at 3:30. LSU visits Florida (-23) at 7:00 p.m. No. 18 USC takes on crosstown rival UCLA at 7:30. And at 8 p.m, DraftKings Sportsbook is offering a defensive special for the Battle or Virginia.
Users can get a return of +400 if the Virginia Cavaliers get both a fumble recovery and an interception against intrastate rival Virginia Tech.
There are wagers and incentives all across the schedule Saturday.
But the ultimate exclamation point arrives on Sunday night when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Buffalo Bills. The Steelers are emerging from their first loss of the season last Monday against Washington, while the Bills stomped the 49ers on Monday Night Football.
Could the Steelers lose again?
The Bills are two-point favorites at Unibet as of Friday afternoon. The Steelers are -113 on the moneyline, while the Bills are -108. The game’s total is set at 48 points. Alternate lines, game props/parlays are also posted for this matchup and live betting odds should be available soon after kickoff.
With Pittsburgh hoping to hold onto home field advantage in the AFC playoffs, Sunday Night’s showdown in Buffalo becomes a massive game.
It’s the exclamation point on a football weekend filled with a number of regional battles.
Army-Navy. USC-UCLA. Iowa-Wisconsin. And that Land Grant game between the Spartans and Nittany Lions.
It’s Rivalry Week.
And it’s loaded with all kinds of action.
