- Leipzig are unbeaten in their last nine matches across all competitions
- Dortmund have won only four of their last nine games
- Leipzig have shipped only nine goals in this season’s Bundesliga
Leipzig can enhance title chances with Dortmund win
Borussia Dortmund started the new year with maximum points against Wolfsburg but there were still shades of vulnerability from Die Schwarzgelben in that contest and they could come unstuck against Leipzig.
Dortmund finished 2020 with only three wins in their final eight league fixtures, losing to the likes of Cologne, Stuttgart and Union Berlin, and when faced with the attacking quality of the Red Bulls they could struggle.
Leipzig have a formidable home record in the Bundesliga this term, winning six and drawing one of their seven matches, and conceding only three goals in the process.
They have emerged as Bayern Munich’s main competitors for the title with Angelino, Yussuf Poulsen, Emil Forsberg and Marcel Sabitzer all proving to be a danger in the final third and our best is a Leipzig win. In terms of a correct score, Dortmund’s games have featured an average of 3.29 goals per game this season, so 3-1 could be a good bet.
